HELLO!

My name is Yan.

I’m a entrepreneur, property mentor, wealth & business coach.

A little bit more about me…

An MBA graduate, a qualified financial adviser, a successful entrepreneur, and a portfolio landlord. My journey began over 20 years ago with just £300 in a foreign country where I knew no one.

Over the years, I’ve navigated the financial world from multiple angles, gaining experience in business, property, finance, and money management. I’m excited to share with you the insights, successes, and lessons I’ve learned along the way.

I’ve been blessed with a lifestyle that many dream of. Despite this success, I have always chosen to keep it private.

I avoided the spotlight and rarely used social media, preferring a life of quiet simplicity.

Discussing money was never part of my upbringing; we earned it discreetly and lived our lives with grace.

So, why am I choosing to go vocal now? There are three reasons:

Embracing Authenticity: I have reached a point in my life where I am free from the fear of judgment. This newfound confidence allows me to share my journey openly.

Empowering Others: I see a growing need for guidance in achieving financial freedom. By sharing my experiences, I hope to inspire and educate others to reach their financial goals.

Giving Back: I now have the abundance to contribute to the community. It’s time to use my knowledge and resources to make a positive impact.

ACCELERATING IN BUSINESS: MY JOURNEY

Part 1: The Journey Begins

Over two decades ago, I arrived in Edinburgh as a student, facing challenges I never anticipated.

The Scottish accent was a far cry from the English I expected to learn. My MBA course demanded every ounce of my effort, and after paying for tuition and rent, I was left with a mere £300.

This wasn’t just about budgeting; it was about surviving in an entirely new world.

Back home, a promising career awaited me, but in the UK, I was in uncharted territory. The job market was daunting, and visa restrictions limited my options.

I was determined to turn my situation around and prove that with the right mindset and right education, anything is possible.

I took on various odd jobs, learning as much as I could about the local market and business practices.

Despite these efforts, it had never occurred to me that I would become an entrepreneur.

This period of adaptation was crucial, as it laid the foundation for the strategic thinking and resilience that would later become pivotal in my entrepreneurial journey.

Part 2: The First Business Acquisition

No one in my family had ever pursued an entrepreneurial path, nor were the people around me part of that circle. I was taught and brought up to climb the corporate ladder, and entrepreneurship seemed like an unattainable dream.

Yet, deep down, I knew that breaking away from conventional expectations was essential for my success.

The turning point came when I met a small business owner who was preparing to retire and relocate abroad.

Drawing on my knowledge in mergers and acquisitions, I proposed a deal structure that allowed the seller to swiftly exit while ensuring a continued cash flow to fund his retirement.

I took over the business, continuing the rent payments, and took care of the customers and his staff members.

This deal was a testament to the power of knowledge and strategic preparation.

It wasn’t just about acquiring a business; it was about preparing myself and taking calculated risks with the right education.

Part 3: Building and Growing the Business

With the business under my ownership, the real work began. I rolled up my sleeves and delved into every aspect of the operation.

From improving sales to optimising marketing, I left no stone unturned.

My goal was to transform the business into a thriving enterprise.

The most successful strategy was the roll-up, buy and build approach.

Recognising the limitations of organic growth, I expanded by opening new locations and acquiring two additional businesses.

This strategic move allowed us to quickly scale and enhance our market presence.

Throughout this period, I faced numerous challenges, from financial hurdles to operational setbacks. However, each challenge was a learning opportunity.

These experiences were invaluable and contributed significantly to my growth as an entrepreneur.

Part 4: The Successful Sale

After 3.5 years of hard work and dedication, the business had grown significantly.

As I decided to start a family, I realised I didn’t want to miss my children’s milestones.

Naturally It was time to take the next step and capitalise on the value I had created. I began exploring options for selling the business.

The goal was to find a buyer who recognised its potential and was willing to pay a premium for the established brand and customer base.

The sale process was intense, involving negotiations, due diligence, and legal considerations. Ultimately, the effort paid off.

I successfully sold the business for a substantial profit, securing the financial stability needed to start my family and pursue new ventures.

This milestone was a validation of the strategies and hard work that had gone into building the business.

Part 5: Starting a Family and New Ventures

With the proceeds from the sale, I was able to start a family and secure a bright future for my loved ones.

This success opened doors to new opportunities, allowing me to invest in other business ventures, funds and bonds, properties, continuously expanding my entrepreneurial portfolio.

My family lives in one of the best neighbourhood in the beautiful Northumberland countryside, and I never missed a moment of my children’s upbringing.

Together with our children, we travelled to over 20 countries before they turned 13.

This international travel gave me valuable perspectives on investing globally, broadening my focus beyond just the UK market.

Now that my children are both over 16, I cherish the freedom and security that financial success has provided.

People often ask me how I transformed from almost zero to financial freedom, all while not actively working over the past two decades, enjoying family time and frequent travel.

Part 6: The Transition to MoneyABC

I realise that I am in a privileged position, and I became involved in mentoring and supporting aspiring entrepreneurs, sharing my knowledge and experiences to help them succeed.

This journey naturally led me to found my new company, MoneyABC, where I simplify the steps to help you to make and manage money as easy as ABC.

Money, in itself, is not the end goal. It’s a tool that, when used wisely, can unlock opportunities and create lasting wealth.

The journey to financial success is not just about earning more, but about understanding and managing money effectively. This is rooted in continuous learning and smart financial management.

As someone who has been there and done that, I draw on my personal experiences to provide practical, actionable advice.

I help my clients navigate challenges, develop strategic plans, and build successful businesses.

My approach is grounded in real-world experience and a deep understanding of the entrepreneurial landscape.

That's my story. If you think that my journey could add value and accelerate your entrepreneurial path, please get in touch.
